Part 2:
SHINEDOWN has contributed a new song called "Her Name Is Alice" to the soundtrack of the upcoming movie "Alice In Wonderland", which also features material from the ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, THE PLAIN WHITE T'S, FRANZ FERDINAND, OWL CITY and more. The soundtrack arrives on March 2, while the movie opens on March 5 in 3D.
Commented Brent: "Lewis Carroll wrote, in our opinion, one of the most imaginative pieces of literature ever published ('Alice in Wonderland'). He created a world of pure beauty and chaos all wrapped up into story of nonsense that, oddly enough, makes total sense.
"'Her Name Is Alice' was an honor to write as it expresses how the story and the movie inspired us to create the song. Imagination is a powerful thing and we think that everyone should dream a little bit more and stare thru their own looking glass… just like Alice.
"The soundtrack 'Almost Alice' was music inspired by the movie 'Alice in Wonderland'. Inspiration refers to an unconscious burst of creativity in a literary, musical, or any other artistic endeavor. Literally, the word means 'breathed upon.' In each view, inspiration is, by its nature, viewed as beyond the control of a person."
SHINEDOWN is coming up on its third year of supporting its 2008 album, "The Sound Of Madness", and shows no signs of slowing down, with tours booked well into 2010. But Kerch told The Pulse of Radio that the band will eventually wind this cycle down in the fall, and hopes to do something special to close it out. "Yeah, we wanna do, you know, when this record's finally waning and it's time to get in to do another one, to end this we thought it'd be really nice to do a, you know, maybe a month-long acoustic tour and hit all of our major markets," he said. "So it's definitely on the table. It's not set in stone yet, but that's what we wanna do. Now we've just got to talk the label and management into it."
After a festival run in Australia next month and some headlining dates in March, the band will begin a trek with NICKELBACK and BREAKING BENJAMIN in April.
"The Sound Of Madness" has sold more than 900,000 copies and has produced the singles "Devour", "If You Only Knew", the title track and the smash crossover hit "Second Chance".
